Dr. Frank Russell received his doctorate in 1992 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Dr. Russell worked as an assistant professor at Averett College for 6 years, 13 years at a state psychiatric facility and 6 years in a Veteran’s Administration outpatient clinic. He has also worked with the public schools, Department of Social Services and the local courts. He has been with Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) since 2011 where his focus is on working with adults, adolescents and children with PTSD, depression, ADHD and behavior problems. He also conducts evaluations for social services, the courts, disability determination services and intellectual disabilities.
Dr. Connie Fletcher is a native of the Chicago area. She earned her doctorate at Illinois Institute of Technology there, and relocated to the Danville area in the early 1980’s. Connie and her husband Dr. Sam built the private practice Associates in Mental Health Services (AIMS) over a period of 20 years. During that time, she was also the Director of Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute. Since her retirement from hospital administration she has been providing part time clinical services for CAPS. When not working, Connie enjoys playing golf with her husband and friends, traveling, walking, and serving on the Boards of the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History, The Danville Concert Association, and The Homeless Shelter of Danville. Connie works with adolescents and adults, couples, the LGBT community, the aging, and the substance abuse population.

Glenn Scarboro, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who
has 48 years of clinical experience. He is a graduate of Virginia
Polytechnic and State University with a BS in Psychology 1967. He
holds a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth
University Graduate School of Social Work 1972. He has been
licensed in Virginia since 1991. Currently his practice is open to new
referrals in most areas of adult functioning. He is especially open to
seeing adult seniors with late life adjustment issues.
Ray Garassino, LCSW, received his MS degree from the Columbia University School of Social Work in New York City. With over 35 years of experience in the field, he has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including being Director of Behavioral Health at Danville Regional Medical Center (now SOVAH Danville) prior to coming to CAPS. His areas of specialty and greatest interest are working with adults with mood disorder, substance use disorders, LGBT+ issues, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. He is also a certified Imago Relationship Therapist, which is a highly effective tool for healing troubled relationships and welcomes the opportunity to work with couples.
Kimberly Bebeau, LPC, received her Masters of Education in Counseling from Lynchburg College in 1997. She also holds an undergraduate degree in Social Work. She has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2000. Kim has experience in both inpatient psychiatric hospitals as well as outpatient behavioral health centers. She has taught and supervised students studying human services, and has provided consultation and services to early childhood programs. She collaborates with local human service agencies and has specialized training in parenting education. She has been with Counseling and Psychological Services CAPS) since 2012 where her focus is on working with adults, adolescents, children and their families with depression, anxiety, post trauma issues and attention and behavioral challenges.

Joan Kahwajy-Anderson is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with more than 30 years of counseling experience. While she works with age groups from adolescence through adulthood, she specializes in working with college age student, young adults and adults through middle age. She is trained in relaxation and stress management to help clients reduce anxiety. Mrs. Kahwajy-Anderson also helps clients ease depression, cope with adjustment issues, heal grief, manage pain, create effective relationships and cope with past trauma, She has experience working with families whose members are struggling with alcohol or drug abuse and emphasizes behavioral health in body, mind and spirit. She frequently uses stress reduction techniques, guided imagery, rational thinking and the
12-Step recovery principles.
